To the Citizens of Mertzon and the Mertzon Global Methodist Church

I’ve been wanting to say a lot of this for a few years now, but it never really felt right until now:

I wanted to stand up during the Easter Sunday service and give you all the praise and recognition you deserve, however, as soon as my father mentioned it, I lost all composure. As much as I wanted to say thank you in person to each and every one of you who has stepped up and helped my family out as much as you have over the past several weeks, I knew I wouldn’t be able to get the words out, so I am writing this letter to you all in an attempt to express my gratitude (Dad, keep it together for this one).

As your pastor said, you all are amazing. You all continually stand up and show not only me, but many, many others what it TRULY means to be a church, and a community. I don’t mean all of these strictly relating to our situation, but to all the wonderful actions I hear on a regular basis from my parents about you as a congregation and family:  The way you step up to the call to action without question. The way you volunteer your time and energy for someone you don’t really know all too well or at all. The way you all give your everything 100% for those in need, you are all an inspiration and not a single one of you is stepping up to the plate looking for any recognition, only doing what you feel is the right thing to do PURELY out of the kindness of your hearts, and I applaud you. I hold you all very near to my heart, and I will sing the praises of your church and your community to anyone who will listen. From the bottom of my heart, I am forever indebted to you, and I thank you with everything I have. 

I feel very honored to be blessed in all the many ways I have by your church and your community. Again, I applaud and thank you for all you are doing for your community.
