Hello Covenant Area 11 and First Church folks!

 

As some of you know, the Mid-Texas GMC has formed a partnership with the Bulgarian Conference of the Global Methodist Church (see a link below to the announcement). They stepped out in faith in a major way, leaving the UMC and thereby immediately losing 70% of their funding. The Mid-Texas Conference has agreed to help fill in that gap, especially the next few years. Each covenant area (we are covenant area 11) has been asked (with grace) to raise $4600 for 2024 and whatever else we can raise for the short-term remainder of 2023. Also, each covenant area has just been assigned a particular church and pastor to partner with. We’ve been assigned Tsenovo Methodist Church in Tsenovo, Bulgaria, a town not unlike many towns in our covenant area. I’ve included a picture and basic information below. If you/your churches want to help in this effort, please let me know! Our offering at the ordination service next week is also dedicated to supporting Bulgaria.

 

I’ve already emailed the pastor and hope to setup some sort of call/zoom with her soon. I’ll let you know what I hear.

 

We also have, of course, formed a covenantal relationship of mission and prayer with the Costa Rican Methodist Conference as well, who votes January and will likely affiliate with the GMC. They, however, do not need financial support as much as they need mission teams and prayers!
