Hi y’all,

Andy informed me a about a week ago that he would like to set up this training soon.

The conference with the help of the Menard Mission Team is trying to set up an ERT (Emergency Response Team) training soon.  What I need from y’all is to pass it on to your congregation and see if there is anyone interested in doing the training.  It will be located at Sierra Vista, just because it is kind of central in the District.   There is not a date set yet because we want to get the word out and see how many are interested.

From Steve Whitson, the West District Disaster Response Coordinator:

“Please help get the word out to everyone. The class generally lasts 6-7 hours. ERTs also receive a background check prior to certification. We are working to build a regional Team from all sizes of Churches and communities.

ERTs are specially trained teams that offer assistance soon after the disaster strikes. They generally do clean up work and tasks required to stop further damage from being done, e.g. putting tarps on damaged roofs and removing damaged sheet rock and the flooded contents of a home.”

If you would please pass this on and if anyone is interested please give them this link: ERT Basic — Rio Texas Response or email Steve at whitsoncom [at] gmail.com  or me at westprograms [at] riotexas.org.  Thanks so much!

Blessings,
