Subject: [Prayer] Easter during challenging times; FW: The 2020 Census in Schleicher County and Irion County

Good Morning Everyone J

I realize this Easter will be a little different, especially with our  loved ones and social distancing. However, we can use technology to be with our families, utilizing face time, computer, phone, etc. I realize it is not the same, but we can get through this with God’s grace and mercy.  I ask that you keep all those in prayer who have contracted this virus, and their families and friends. We are all affected by this crisis so I ask that we also pray for each other. I will pray that you and you families are giving comfort during these challenging times.

I wish all of you a Happy Easter as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and his gift of eternal life for us all.

God bless each one of you.

Good morning! You may have already received my newsletter but I wanted to take a moments to address Schleicher and Irion Counties individually. As noted in the chart, the response numbers in your counties is much lower than average but, there is a reason for that! (https://2020census.gov/en/response-rates.html)

The Census Bureau reminders and questionnaires are only mailed to addresses that receive mail at their homes - not to PO Boxes. Any domicile that doesn't receive mail delivered to the door falls into a category we call "Update Leave" which means those questionnaires are hand delivered and left on the front door. Due to the current COVID19 crisis, all in -person Census activities (including update leave) have been postponed until April 30th so most of your residents have not yet received their 2020 Census information.

If you can get the word out locally, many of those residents can still go ahead and complete their 2020 Census either online or over the phone IF they have a physical address of their place of residence (even if they do not receive mail there). If a residence has a city style (911 address), that is what is used to complete the Census.

Houses that DO NOT have a physical address are asked to wait until the Update Leave activities resume and use the ID number provided to them at that time.

Thank you,
