Subject: URGENT! Response to Flooding along the Llano/Colorado/Pedernales River

Amy, I just sent this out to Hill Country District local churches. You may want 
to do the same for the West District.

Now that the rain has stopped, communities are able to see what has happened as 
a result of the flooding yesterday. If you are in an area that wasdirectly 
affected by the floodingplease let us know at the District office or contact:

Be prepared to give Gene a report from your county Disaster Management Response 
coordinator or County Judge.
If you live nearby and notdirectly affected by the flooding Here are ways you 
can assist:
1. Donations directly to Disaster Response, Advance #2050 at the Conference
Office (https://riotexasresponse.org/take-action/)
2. Review the attached Response memo from the Burnet County City Secretary with 
donation collection locations and volunteer sign-up location.
3. Notify your congregation that there is an ERT Training at St. Matthews in 
San Antonio -

4. Prayers for all affected.
5. Contact Bee Creek UMC (http://beecreekumc.org/) they have a volunteer signup 
online ready to send help as soon as they know where.
6. Begin to plan to replenish Flood Buckets for the Mt. Wesley Martinez 
Disaster Center.
7. Continue to watch for requests from Sonora & Junction flooding needs.
8. Connect with neighboring congregations to create a "team" to assist.

DO NOT TAKE USED CLOTHING TO THE DISASTER AREA. ONLY ITEMS YOU SEE ON THE LIST 
FROM BURNET COUNTY.
