Prayer Mailing List: Meals needed in May

Good morning Church, 

What a gorgeous day is dawning with a cloudless blue sky. I understand the wind 
will begin to blow as the hours in the day tick by. 

May brings with it a very busy time of year for our community. Our community of 
faith is no different. As events have worked out and new events have been added 
to others calendars, there are more opportunities to help. 

Beginning on Wednesday May 3, at 12:00 we will be hosting and providing a meal 
for the Seniors of Irion County. The current menu so far is brisket and roasted 
potatoes as the anchor food items. Lots of sides to support and fill in to make 
a full meal for our Senior High graduates will be needed. I will ask Jennifer 
Thorp if she will put out a notice on facebook for help with this meal. Many 
from the community like to help with this event. 

May 6th through May 11th is Teacher Appreciation week. May 11th, that is a 
Friday, we were asked by the Parent Teacher Organization of Irion County if we 
could provide lunch for our teachers. That meal is being taken care of and food 
is being delivered at noon on that day. 

May is our month to provide a meal for the community. Esther Thorp will provide 
the meat for this meal and we will need to come up with a menu for this meal. 

More information will be provided as the dates approach, but I did not want 
people to be surprised or feel overwhelmed by the number of times we are 
providing meals for the community. I will try to provide this information 
through email, facebook, church announcements, bulletin, church website, and 
our monthly church newsletter. Hopefully with one of these ways of passing 
information word will get out and we can have lots of men and women to help 
with all of these meals. 

All of this may seem like a lot, but I know that many hands will help feed our 
Seniors, Teachers, and community. It is an opportunity to love our community 
well.
