The West District Superintendent, Andy Smith met with the SPRC meeting on 
Sunday March 25 to introduce the new pastor appointed to FUMC Mertzon. We look 
forward to welcoming Mark Krause to our congregation and community.

My name is Mark Krause

I have been a Methodist Pastor for 16 years. I got my call to go into the 
ministry after I went on the Walk to Emmaus in March of 1997. I was appointed 
to the La Pryor and Crystal City Methodist churches as their part-time Pastor 
in June of 2002 while working full time as a Farm Bureau insurance agent in 
Uvalde. I served there for 4 years. In June of 2006 I was appointed to the Art 
United Methodist Church as their full-time Pastor. I served there for 5 years. 
And, then in June of 2011 I was appointed to the Menard United Methodist Church 
and have served there for 7 years.

My passion has always been helping people in any way I can.

And, with the Lord’s Help I will continue to do that always.
