Prayer Mailing List: the church is on the move

I wanted to share with the congregation the hard work that many of you have 
been doing. 


Today all of the cards that have been written and the agape made was taken to 
the teachers and staff at 
the school. The drop off was great and very well received. 
thank you all so much for doing this. 
We will do this again in November. I hope that you have kept up with your 
names. 
If not no worries, we have a master list that you can look at to see who your 
person is. 
I can not begin to tell you what a blessing that each one of those cards is 
going to mean 
to the person on the other end. 
This reaching out to another person is a great way to minister to our 
community. 
Keep up the great work. This is your opportunity to bring God's love to another 
individual 




On Saturday, a few of us from First United Methodist in Mertzon 
participated in ERT training. Early Response Training. We will no 
doubt be asked to head to the coast to help with relief efforts for the 
hurricane victims. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn new things. 
meet new people, and look at ways that God can use us to help with 
the sufferings of others. 
Unfortunately, only those who have been ERT trained will be able to go 
and help as part of UMC and UMCOR. Individuals on their own efforts can go, 
but may not be allowed into critical areas. Training sessions continue to go 
on, but not as close 
as the training was for us this time. The only age limit is that you must be 18 
years and older. There 
is no upper age limit. 




Tomorrow, Laundry Love will happen. This is a ministry from First United 
Methodist in San Angelo 
to help the homeless. I am sure that you have noticed a resurgence of homeless 
people in the area. 
All those plarn mats and some of the shoes and clothing you have donated will 
be going to this ministry. 


Thank you all so much for your hearts, time, energy and effort. Together we are 
touching lives and 
loving on people that may never cross the threshold of this church, but through 
your efforts will 
experience and KNOW that there are people who care and love them. Even better 
that GOD LOVES THEM.
